City Growers’ Bee Ambassadors is a six-week paid summer apprenticeship for New York youth aged 14-18. The program focuses on native pollinators, green jobs, and environmental justice.

Bee Ambassadors will:

• learn to identify native plants and pollinators

• deepen understanding of native ecosystems and the ecosystem benefits of native fauna and flora

• investigate environmental justice issues such as air and water pollution, food access, and climate change

•  explore green job sites in New York City through weekly field trips

• inspect various honeybee hives throughout the city

•  practice essential job skills as an apprentice while making $17/hour
